About us
Civic Atlas was born out of my frustration with how messy data and paperwork gets in the way of making smart decisions about cities.
While working as a planner in Dallas, I had to spend countless hours reading public records in order to track how different neighborhoods were growing and changing. As I explored a growing passion for computer science, I realized that emerging AI and Machine Learning tools were a radical opportunity to turn paperwork into actionable data.
I developed this concept while pursuing my Master's Degree in Urban Planning at MIT where I was fortunate enough to participate in the DesignX startup accelerator. After launching Civic Atlas Full time in summer 2023, I've been hard at work building tools that help local governments, nonprofits, and the commercial real estate industry find the actionable information buried in mounds of public records.
